In the final seconds, pure elation broke out for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and gifted the temporary Chelsea manager a unforgettable moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane was the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch in class, making the recollection of Fernández's crucial intervention one to warm the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Glaring Contrast in Experience

On the City bench stood the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with 40 trophies for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match. In the opposite technical area, was a former coach at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had served in City's own academy and stepped up to make his senior managerial bow after being temporarily promoted from his regular role guiding Chelsea's youth teams.
